Ke Ala Hele Makālae: short northward return from Kapaʻa
Kapaʻa, Kauaʻi
Up to 2 miles return · Out-and-back
Paved coastal shared-use path
Join the main coastal path heading north toward Keālia. Turn after one outward mile or earlier before a road crossing, storm barrier, washed surface or uncomfortable slope. Retrace to Niu Street and walk back through the lot. Omit Kawaihau’s uphill spur, the resort gap south of town, the farther north Keālia–Pāliku reach, Kuna Bay’s steep beach descent and the blocked pier.
Kīhei Greenway: a short return from South Maui Community Park
Kīhei, Maui
About0.4mile main return plus parking walk · Out and back
Paved school-side shared-use path
This is a small practice outing on the southern Kīhei Greenway: leave the community park on foot, ride north beside Līloa Drive on the school side, and turn back before East Līpoa Street. It gives you a modest distance and a clear stopping boundary without taking on the street crossings needed to continue onto the older northern greenway.
Magic Island: short shoreline return from ʻĀina Moana parking
Honolulu, Oʻahu
Up to 1 mile return · Out-and-back
Improved shared-use park path; stop if tread changes
From the lot’s ocean-side comfort station follow the shoreline shared-use path south onto the Magic Island peninsula, keeping the open beach / ocean to your right. Turn at half an outward mile or before an earlier barrier, sand-covered tread, beach-only section or crowd pinch point. Retrace the same path. Do not close a loop through the lagoon side, enter McCoy / Banyan Courtyard work, or continue onto city streets.
Pearl Harbor Bike Path: short west return from Blaisdell Park
Waimalu
Up to 1 mile return · Out and back
Paved shared-use bike path; condition varies at bridges and edges
Walk through Blaisdell Park to the shoreline bicycle path. Turn west, away from Aiea Bay, ride up to half a mile and retrace. Stay on the public path; private utility sites, highway riding and the full Waipahu extension are excluded.
Use Blaisdell Park and head west; Aiea Bay parking construction is a separate location to the east. Inspect bridge approaches and stop at debris, damage or barriers. This guide does not promise a clear full route to Waipahu.
