Honolulu, Oʻahu, Hawaii · Up to 1 mile return · Improved shared-use park path; stop if tread changes

Start: Magic Island / ʻĀina Moana public parking, Magic Island Parking Lot, Ala Moana Park Drive, Honolulu, HI. Use designated public spaces in the large Magic Island lot. Walk from the ocean-side end past the comfort station to the shared shoreline path. The city picnic diagram shows this public lot and the adjoining path; do not ride across grass, picnic reservations or vehicle aisles.

Ride: From the lot’s ocean-side comfort station follow the shoreline shared-use path south onto the Magic Island peninsula, keeping the open beach / ocean to your right. Turn at half an outward mile or before an earlier barrier, sand-covered tread, beach-only section or crowd pinch point. Retrace the same path. Do not close a loop through the lagoon side, enter McCoy / Banyan Courtyard work, or continue onto city streets.

Distance: Chosen one-mile maximum return. Biki’s broader 2.5-mile Ala Moana and Magic Island loop includes additional park areas and is not the selected course.

Permission and effort: Biki’s firsthand bicycle route expressly includes Magic Island’s shared-use park paths, corroborated by city bicycle-path inventory. Follow any posted local riding prohibition. Biki describes the park’s terrain as flat and easy. Lot transitions and local edges remain unmeasured; turn or walk if uncomfortable.

Planning: City lists regular park hours 4 a.m.–10 p.m.; choose daylight and obey posted lot gates. No current ordinary trail or parking tariff was established. Obey posted terms; rental charges are separate. Yield to walkers, ride slowly and dismount in crowds. Stay on the designated shared path. Do not assume dog permission from other trails; follow this park’s posted animal restrictions.

Access reviewed October 20, 2026 Central (October 21 UTC): Current city page retains the park and identifies ongoing Banyan Courtyard / portico work with hoped-for spring 2027 completion. This peninsula return avoids that area and does not certify the full Biki loop. Older completed parking / shower projects are historical, not today’s surface inspection. Windblown sand, high water and events can interrupt the outing.

Bring water and choose suitable weather. Parking walking is extra. No surveyed parking-space pin or navigable GPX is supplied.
