the city map places the outer course inside the park, separate from the mapped parking drives. It does not require riding Highway 119. Walk through parking areas and remain alert at internal access points, busy sports-field approaches and path junctions. Tournament crowds can make slow riding or walking the better choice.
Elevation
paved paths. Shelby County’s trail sheet marks the easy difficulty category; no measured maximum grade or elevation profile is available. That sheet has contradictory accessibility wording, so this guide makes no wheelchair-accessibility certification. Assess any uneven pavement or short approach yourself before continuing.

Suggested ride: one 1.75-mile outer loop, following the outer route shown on the city’s recreational track-distance map. Repeat the same loop for about 3.5 miles if you want a longer outing. The half-mile, three-quarter-mile and one-mile alternatives overlap this course, so their lengths must not be added together as separate trail miles.

Arrival: use designated visitor parking inside the park. The city map shows a large lot north of the front sports fields and another lot beside the western paths. Walk your bicycle out of the lot to the paved perimeter path, then remain on the outer course. The front playground is a useful orientation feature; the outer route continues around the sports-field side and eastern pond area. Use the original map at junctions, rather than cutting across ballfields, a parking drive or an athletic-facility entrance. The address identifies the park, not a surveyed parking stall.

Surface and hills: paved paths. Shelby County’s trail sheet marks the easy difficulty category; no measured maximum grade or elevation profile is available. That sheet has contradictory accessibility wording, so this guide makes no wheelchair-accessibility certification. Assess any uneven pavement or short approach yourself before continuing.

Road exposure: the city map places the outer course inside the park, separate from the mapped parking drives. It does not require riding Highway 119. Walk through parking areas and remain alert at internal access points, busy sports-field approaches and path junctions. Tournament crowds can make slow riding or walking the better choice.

Hours and facilities: the city lists 5 a.m.–11 p.m.; daylight makes route-finding and shared use easier. Restrooms are listed near the front playground and in the back beside Pavilion 7, with another inside the ballpark. Availability can vary. Dogs must be leashed and are not allowed beyond athletic-facility entrance gates. Pavilion rental fees are separate from a casual trail outing; no specific bicycle-trail admission fee was identified on the reviewed facility page. E-bike eligibility is unconfirmed.

Access check: the current city facility description and linked maps were reviewed October 19, 2026. No notice closing this selected loop appeared there. The undated schematic is for orientation, rather than a current pavement inspection, and notices should be checked again before website launch.
