BLM describes a roughly six-mile pathway loop into town, but this guide selects only a short separated paved return and does not certify the full loop’s crossings. In winter, parts of the pathway are groomed for cross-country skiing. Do not assume snow grooming creates a usable or bicycle-permitted winter ride; postpone when snow-covered or follow actual seasonal controls.

Yield to walkers, slow for blind bends and stop at every street, driveway and parking crossing. Wet boardwalks, loose gravel, flooding, debris and ice can change suitability. Turn back rather than bypass a closure or enter motor traffic.
Hours, costs and access
Choose daylight and obey posted park, trail and parking signs. No ordinary trail-use tariff established; follow current visitor parking terms. Reserved activities, rentals and events are separate.
