Paseo Trail very short north return from Tibshraeny

Arizona · Other separated ride

Walk from the park lot to the Paseo Trail beside the canal. Use the concrete east-bank course and head north, away from Chandler Boulevard, toward the Galveston Street end. Turn before Galveston or the end of the signed concrete path, a road/drive crossing or barrier, or after half a mile outward, whichever comes first. Retrace. This is deliberately a very short introduction: the actual return may be substantially less than one mile. No official half-mile marker is promised. Do not cross Chandler Boulevard, switch to the unimproved west bank, enter the canal or add the park’s separate walking circuit.

Elevation
Chandler’s tourism department calls the Paseo route gentle and describes it as flat for a casual ride. That is qualitative guidance rather than a slope survey. Walk an uncomfortable park or canal approach.

Chandler, Arizona · Up to 1 mile out and back · Concrete east-bank canal path

Start: Tibshraeny Family Park designated public lot, 270 N Cottonwood Street, Chandler, AZ 85225. City Paseo map explicitly names this park as northern trailhead parking with restrooms. Walk through park to the signed east-bank canal path; public park parking is separate from commuter Park and Ride spaces.

Ride: Walk from the park lot to the Paseo Trail beside the canal.

Distance: Chosen maximum one-mile return with an earlier northern endpoint. Not the whole 6.5-mile canal corridor or the park’s 0.52-mile walking loop. Parking walk extra.

Surface, permission and effort: The city expressly welcomes pedal bicycles on the east-side concrete multi-use path. The opposite canal bank is dirt and has a different riding surface. Chandler’s tourism department calls the Paseo route gentle and describes it as flat for a casual ride. That is qualitative guidance rather than a slope survey. Walk an uncomfortable park or canal approach.

Planning: Public park 6 a.m.–10:30 p.m.; choose daylight within current posted trail and lot terms. No separate ordinary path or park tariff established in reviewed pages; posted terms govern. Facility rentals are separate. E-bikes are prohibited on Chandler canal paths; broader July 2026 device changes do not remove the canal restriction. Yield to pedestrians, pass slowly and stay back from the unguarded water edge. Restrooms are listed but opening is not guaranteed.

Access: Reviewed October 20, 2026: current city trail and park information supports this northern section. The Ashley connection and Loop 202 canal bridge works are farther south or separate links, not a reason to claim the entire Paseo is clear. Respect work fencing and any new notice at the park; no on-site inspection is claimed.

Choose comfortable weather, bring water and check current signs before setting out. No parking-space pin, surveyed route or GPX is supplied.
