Portsmouth, New Hampshire · Up to 1 mile return · Compacted stone-dust multiuse rail-trail; not future street links

Start: NH Seacoast Greenway — Portsmouth Skate Park trailhead, Portsmouth Skate Park, 305 Greenland Road, Portsmouth, NH. Fresh alliance explicitly lists this current public trailhead and parking with facilities. Use designated trailhead visitor spaces and walk onto Greenway; skateboard ramps and skate-park riding area are excluded. Follow current parking signs rather than invent Borthwick/Banfield future lots. Use designated ordinary visitor spaces, respect reserved spaces and walk through the lot to the signed main path. The address identifies a public facility, not a surveyed stall.

Ride: Follow the signed main path south on the signed compacted-stone-dust Greenway. Turn after 0.5 outward miles or before the first public-road crossing, work barrier, uncertain continuation or uncomfortable transition, whichever comes first; retrace. Walk any initial lot or access-drive interface. Do not use a road or private-property detour.

Distance: Chosen 1-mile maximum return, not the full regional corridor or a surveyed parking-to-parking distance. Earlier interfaces shorten the outing; parking walking is extra.

Permission and effort: Source-backed ordinary bicycle use on the designated improved main path; walking-only spurs and adjacent private property are excluded. Short half-mile outward rail-corridor course is an editorial modest-effort selection; no published numerical grade or all-route flatness claimed. Inspect access ramps and turn before uncomfortable climbing.

Planning: Daylight and posted municipal trailhead gates / parking terms. No current ordinary access tariff established; posted terms govern. Event, camping and rental charges are separate. Yield to walkers and horses, leash pets and pack out trash. Alliance allows Class 1/2 and excludes Class 3, but this guide covers ordinary pedal bicycles. Numerical speed limit not established; use a controlled courteous speed and obey signs.

Access reviewed October 20, 2026 Central (October 21 UTC): Fresh alliance says northern 8 mile Barberry-to-North Hampton section open and bicycle-suitable stone dust. Its Phase 1 b June 2026 wording is an older forecast; retained East Coast Greenway source independently confirms Phase 1 b opened 2026. This Portsmouth course does not require it or future Hampton Falls/Seabrook links. Local barriers govern, maintenance vehicles may appear. This is a dated source review, not a field inspection or current-day all-clear. Postpone for snow, ice, high water, soft tread or barriers rather than improvising a bypass.

Bring water and choose suitable weather. Parking walking is extra. No surveyed parking-space pin or navigable GPX is supplied.
