A selected outing on a documented improved bicycle route. Follow the stated public start and course.

Start and parking

Start: Lewis MacAdams Riverfront Park public trail access, 2999 Rosanna Street, Los Angeles, CA.

MRCA identifies public entrances at 2999 Rosanna, 2944 Gleneden and 2960 Marsh and provides visitor parking. Its river FAQ explicitly identifies free public parking at Lewis MacAdams Park. Use open ordinary visitor spaces and walk the park approach; reserved event grounds are separate.

Surface and effort

Paved existing river-bank bicycle path; natural river channel and park fitness-loop spurs excluded. Generally gentle river-bank course with access ramps, underpasses and local rises. Ramps can be steep and wet.

Crossings and shared use

Yield to walkers and slow at junctions. Stop and look at every street crossing; do not use traffic lanes to bypass a closure. Yield to pedestrians, keep right, and slow at blind corners. Stop at barriers; never use a traffic-road detour to bypass a trail closure.

Hours, costs and access

Use daylight and obey posted trail, park and parking hours. Follow current public visitor-parking terms; reserved activities and events have separate conditions.

Reviewed 2026-10-22. The current MRCA park profile confirms bicycle-path access. Its 2026 recreation FAQ explicitly says the seasonal river recreation zone excludes the existing bike path; the end of kayak/channel season is not automatically a bicycle-path closure. LADOT’s published policy closes river-adjacent paths on forecast-rain days. Check current weather and closure signs; proposed Phase IV/downtown path gaps are not assumed complete. This is a source review, not a same-day inspection. Recheck the linked manager before travel.

Map and Directions

Use the named public start and its posted parking signs. The map reference identifies the facility or selected trail area; it is not a surveyed parking stall or navigable route line. Bicycle and e-bike rules can differ; only ordinary bicycle use is established unless noted.
