Goose Lake: paved lakeside return

Alaska · Greenway

Walk from public park parking past the basketball court to the signed paved Goose Loop heading east around the north shore. Continue for up to half a mile, turning before the Alumni Drive intersection, an unpaved branch, barrier or uncomfortable slope. Retrace the same path.

Access note. DRY-PAVEMENT GUIDE: snow, ice and seasonal grooming may prevent an ordinary bicycle ride. Do not ride onto lake ice or natural branches. Turn before Alumni Drive; this is not the complete campus loop.

Surface and effort

Paved designated shared bicycle path. Local slopes, curves and path approaches may require effort. No surveyed maximum grade; turn before an uncomfortable hill or transition.

Yield to walkers, slow for blind bends and stop at every street, driveway and parking crossing. Wet boardwalks, loose gravel, flooding, debris and ice can change suitability. Turn back rather than bypass a closure or enter motor traffic.

Hours, costs and access

Choose daylight; obey posted park, trail and parking hours. No ordinary trail-use fee established in the reviewed profile; events and reserved facilities are separate.
