Source review: 2026-10-22. A dated source review does not guarantee current-day conditions.
A creekside improved path from Brookside’s public park is distinct from the longer Black Creek Park rail-trail outing.
Start and parking
Start: John Bensko Park / Brookside Greenway, 100 Park Street, Brookside, AL 35073.
Use public Bensko/Greenway Park visitor parking. The partner’s postal listing says Graysville for the same 35073 address, while its route description places the park in Brookside. Choose the named Bensko facility, not an unrelated Graysville city park.
Ride and distance
Selected ride: Up to 2 miles return. Format: Out and back.

Crossings and shared use
Keep to the improved creek path. Do not cross the creek on a road to pursue future connectors or ride park vehicle lanes as part of the outing. Yield to pedestrians, keep right, and slow at blind corners. Stop at barriers; never use a traffic-road detour to bypass a trail closure.
Hours, costs and access
Choose daylight and follow posted park and trail hours. No casual trail-use tariff established in the reviewed sources; posted parking and admission terms govern.
Reviewed 2026-10-22. Current partner GIS identifies this creek route and public trailhead parking. Older birding guidance supports the Bensko parking approach and level character; it does not establish present flood conditions. This is a source review, not a same-day inspection. Recheck the linked manager before travel.
Map and Directions
Use the named public start and its posted parking signs. The map reference identifies the facility or selected trail area; it is not a surveyed parking stall or navigable route line. Bicycle and e-bike rules can differ; only ordinary bicycle use is established unless noted.
